Bianca Ţiplea Temeş, Ariana Phillips-Hutton, Nicholas Cook, Daniel K L Chua Perpetual Encounter: Globalisation, Cosmopolitanism, and Acculturation in Music
Every edited collection is the result of many discrete efforts and this volume is no exception. We would like to thank all of the individuals and organisations who have made this volume possible. This includes, of course, the authors of the published papers, but also the members of the scientific board: Jim Samson, Nicholas Cook, Bianca Țiplea Temeș, Pavel Pușcaș, and Adrian Pop. We are also grateful to the de Falla Archive and the Paul Sacher Foundation for their generosity in allowing us to reproduce materials as well as to Heidy Zimmermann for her assistance. Special thanks also go to Bencze Miklós for the cover design.
The driving force behind this volume was the Romanian musicologist Bianca Țiplea Temeș, director of the biennial Ligeti Festival Transylvania at which these papers were given. Following her untimely death during the editing process in November 2023, we determined that the most fitting tribute would be to carry on her work to bring the volume to press, but also to invite some of those with whom Bianca had worked to offer their own reminiscences. The book therefore opens with a section devoted to remembering Bianca and her work, followed by the papers she had solicited for this book.
Finally, the editors would like to thank Adrian Temeș for all his support in bringing this volume to completion.
